Field Day is ham radio’s open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.
This year, Field Day 2021, will be held out at Pat Cahill’s farm located at 69520 270th Avenue, Kasson, MN 55944 (click address for map) on June 26th & 27th, 2021. We will be running 2 stations (2A) this year. Saturday evening dinner will be provided this year at 6pm so come out and join us for a bite to eat and socialization. For logging this year, we will be using the N1MM software.
We will be following all current CDC COVID-19 protocols and recommendations regarding masks and sanitization. If you plan to operate, it is recommended to bring your own headset and microphone, but wipes will be available for use also. We are using an ICOM 7600 and an ICOM 9100 for the 2 station radios.
This year’s coordinator is Steve Wiebke, WØSTV.
