Autopatch

The WØMXW 146.82 repeater repeater autopatch operates as an "open" autopatch and is available for use by any amateur radio operator. However, an access code is required for autopatch operation. The autopatch access code may be obtained from a RARC club member and should not be broadcast on the repeater. Visiting hams to Rochester are welcome to use the autopatch function by requesting a RARC club member listening on the repeater to bring up the autopatch function.

To initiate an autopatch operation, key your transmitter by pressing your transmitter PTT (push-to-talk) and identify that you are accessing the autopatch. Then immediately enter the autopatch access code followed by the telephone number your are calling using the DTMF tone keys on your radio. (Do not release your PTT or "un-key" your transmitter between keying the autopatch access code and the telephone number.) When you release the PTT on your transmitter, the repeater controller will redial the phone number and you will hear a series of beeps on the repeater output to indicate that telephone dialing is in progress.

To terminate the autopatch operation, key your transmitter and enter the autopatch termination code using your DTMF tone keys. At the end of your transmission, the repeater voice will acknowledge autopatch termination by logging the current time. An example message may be "Autopatch completed at 7:30 p.m."

Speed Dial

The set of autopatch speed dial numbers is stored in the repeater controller to facilitiate rapid dialing of telephone numbers. Speed dial numbers are only available to current RARC club members. To obtain a speed dial number assignment, contact John, NØHZN.

To use your speed dial autopatch number, key your transmitter by pressing your PTT and identify that you are accessing the autopatch. Enter your three digit speed dial number using your DTMF tone keys. When your transmission drops, the repeater will announce the call sign of the station being dialed and will then dial the speed dial telephone number.

The speed dial operation is terminated in the same manner as a normal autopatch call operation.

When your transmitter PTT switch is released, the repeater will beep and then play back the test audio message.
