Frozen Goose Race - 1st public service event of 2009

The Frozen Goose Race on February 7, 2009 at the University Center was part of 7th Annual Rochester WinterFest and was sponsored by the Optimist Club of Rochester.   Proceeds from the event go to the Optimist International Childhood Cancer Campaign.

The event consisted of a 10K timed run, and a 5K fun run or walk. Men’s and women’s awards were presented for the 10K race.

This year's event attracted an estimated 172 participants, 51 of whom enjoyed  the warm February weather on the 10K course.

Peter N8MHD and KCØGND provided Hiawatha Nordic Ski Patrol medical coverage for the event.
