The next Rochester Amateur Radio Club (RARC) monthly
meeting is at 7 p.m. this coming Tuesday May 13th in
Room EH 109, Endicott Hall, at the UCR/RCTC Campus, in
Rochester.
President's address for July Meeting
Greetings everyone!
I am travelling for the holiday weekend so I've asked Bob, KCØGND to make
certain this note reached as many of you as possible. We've added so many new
members of late, it's a challenge to keep up with email addresses. This is a
strength of Bob's, so THANKS Bob!
As an organization we have been incredibly busy this year, and particularly so
the past several weeks. Efforts on the Expo continue, and it's really coming
together. It will be upon us in no time. Now is the time to volunteer! There
are still many projects that could use extra hands. Please reach out to one of
the committee chairs or event co-chairs if you would like to be involved. July's
meeting will be the final formal club meeting prior to the Expo, so the Expo
committee will provide the club a thorough review on its progress next Tuesday.
The RARC had another very successful Field Day last weekend. I'll be asking
Dave, KØVH, Field Day committee chair to recap the event at next
Tuesday's meeting. Thank you so much to all who participated in its planning
and implementation.
Our formal program will be a presentation/demo by Roger Bierbaum, NØAWN.
Roger was contacted and invited by ABØBW. He will be bringing his
emergency communication setup used in Hurricane responses, including Katrina.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion period regarding the Club Picnic, which
is traditionally held in lieu of the August meeting. If you have any ideas, or
would like to help organize this event, please speak up at the July meeting.
We'll be meeting at
RCTC, Room EH109
at 7pm. We'll have our customary ragchew/networking dinner at
John Hardy's south
at 5:30pm for anyone that would like to join us ahead of the meeting.
As always, please reach out to the newest members of our Ham community and
invite them (or bring them) to the meeting.
Just an FYI - please welcome Bryan, KCØWIJ, home from his military
training in San Antonio. It's good to hear him on the airwaves again!
If anyone has any questions, concerns, or additions to the meeting agenda,
please call or email me. If you have a suggestion for a program for an
upcoming meeting, please call or email Stan Cram, KDØBQ.
Enjoy the long holiday weekend - be safe! See you next week!
