The next Rochester Amateur Radio Club (RARC) monthly meeting
is at 7pm this coming Tuesday September 11th at the American Red Cross Building, 310 14th Street
SE, in Rochester.
All members are encouraged to bring a guest or encourage a new licensee to
attend as we work towards setting up clubs in local schools. The
program this month will be multipart:
-
KØMD Scott will do a brief audio/video presentation on Ham Radio
in China.
-
The Education Task Force will present a progress report on the
sponsorship by RARC of Rochester Public Schools and/or Schaeffer
Academy as satellite stations. This will dovetail with a
report on the 3rd quarter Ham Radio class that will take place on
this Saturday September 8 from 8-5 with testing Sept 13 6:30pm at
the Red Cross. We have a donated GAP Challenger vertical antenna
which can be used at a future school station if approved by the
facilities owner.
-
In light of the emergency response services required recently by
torrential rains and floods, we should discuss our practices, team
lists, equipment, and our ability as an organization to respond
appropriately to disasters (either as part of the program or ARES
committee reports).
With a busy night of program events I encourage those with "new hams"
questions or a desire to ragchew please try to join us before 7pm.
SEE YOU TUESDAY! 73s Dave KØVH
