Technician Ham Radio Class

The next Technician Ham Radio Class will be held on Saturday March 20, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the American Red Cross Building, 310 14th Street SE, in Rochester, MN. The one day class covers all topics needed to pass the entry level Technician written Element 2 examination. Prospective students should contact class coordinator, Bill Osler, at the RARC mailing list on Yahoo! , or at 507-252-5852 at least 2 weeks prior to the class. Students should also obtain the textbook, The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, before attending the class.

2010 SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter Training
The 2010 SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter Training Session for Olmsted county will be held 6:30 p.m. on March 24, 2010, at the Rochester International Event Center. The session is open to the general public and is free of charge. Please register in advance by contacting Michelle Ridd (507) 285-8103.

RARC Monthly Meeting - Tuesday, April 13, 2010

The next Rochester Amateur Radio Club (RARC) monthly meeting is at 7 p.m. this coming Tuesday April 13th in Room HS 131, Health Sciences, at the UCR/RCTC Campus, in Rochester.   More information on the next meeting's program will be available in the next meeting announcement note from Peter N8MHD.   See the March 9 RARC President's Letter from Peter N8MHD for information on the last club meeting.

The Ten Meter Net in SE Minnesota on 28.325 SSB

Just got your Tech license? Or you've moved up to General. But, don't know the in's and out's of HF operations?. Then come on over to the Ten Meters every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on 28.325 SSB. I'm sure the Hams would be more then happy to answer any of your questions. And even give you some free pointers on working DX as the Solar Cycle gears up. New General licensee? Try out that new rig on the open highways of HF. Talk local, learn International! because Ten Meters will be a super band the coming years. It meets every Tuesday -except not- the 2nd Tuesday when we have RARC club meetings. Net controls are rotated each week.
