The Hustler resonators were correct for each
band except: |
160
M used RM-75S, 60 M used RM-40S, 6 M used just the mast, about 54
inches. |

The frequencies recorded were for repeatability
of measurements, they are typical, |
not unique. The ticks are heard all over the
affected ham bands and between. |
Explanation of the situation for each of the
four sets of measurements: |
A) Baseline before BPL, 25 May, 26 May, 3 June,
12 July 2004 normal quiet days. |
B) Baseline before BPL, 1 July 2004, some loud
interference, frying sound across |
the bands, loudest near the overhead injection
site near 12th street and 4th Ave SW. |
Had this continued, near an amateur
installation, it would have been cause for |
complaint to power company for find it and fix
it. |
C) Initial turn-on of BPL, about 10 customers,
no notching of Ham Bands, loud ticks |
seem to be contineous from 2.7 to about 17 MHz. |
D) T1 line from Winona improved to support
speeds to 1 Mbit/sec, told the Ham Bands |
have been notched, now seems to use the
frequencies from 2.7 to 25 MHz. |
Worst |
harmful interference seems to be in the phone
portion of 80 and 40 meters and all of |
the 30 meter band, even with notching turned
on. Interference increases with customer |
load and we have only measured when at most
three of the ten subscribers were active. |

* Depends on location |
Ticks are a very fast burst and not tunable |
Cricket
Chirp lasts longer than a Tick, and are tunable, seem to be |
caused by increased load. |
