KCØP Goes To Ohio To Take BPL Measurements

Mel KCØP is traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Monday, June 20, to take BPL RF emission measurements at the request of Rochester Public Utilities. To take the measurements, both within and outside of the amateur bands, Mel has mounted a screwdriver antenna on his vehicle that can be tuned for essentially any frequency from about 4 MHz through 50 MHz. The measurements at the different frequencies will be taken using the screwdriver antenna and a ICOM 706MKIIG transceiver.
